This is a slightly different desk lamp that I’ve actually found quite a few uses for. What makes it good is the versatility and a good light. Firstly though, using the controls is not as easy as the instructions look. You have to place your whole hand firmly on the top for it to register. Trying to uses a multi finger tap isn’t consistent so I’ve basically resorted to gently whacking it. And it works fine that way. There are a few light settings and it’s doesn’t get overly bright but more than enough for a desk. The light rotates which I’ve found really helpful to turn sideways and use it to light up my computer when I’m tinkering with it. The base is weighty and holds the lamp on magnetically. So when I move it around it’s easy to detach and I can use it to find something in a box or under the desk where there not much light. Really the only thing I haven’t used it for is as a lamp. The base itself does light up but this is just for aesthetics. The build quality is really solid. It has a good weight to all of it and feels very robust. Overall it’s not something I’d have thought to buy but I’ve found more use for it than I thought and if that is something you also want then it’s a great buy. If you just want a desk lamp then it does look good but might not be as cost effective for a basic lamp.

I adore this 2-in-1 light. It sits on my headboard. I use it for low ambient light, focused light, and a flashlight. And I just love how unique it looks and works. But I’m not having great luck getting it to stick to the formica. It does and it doesn’t! And I can’t seem to find the sweet spot on the power button on top. I find the only way I can get consistent results is to drag my thumb across it from one side to the other. It seems I hit the spot somewhere along that line. Tapping on the power symbol is more miss than hit for me. I’ve been at it for close to 2 months, and haven’t gotten any better. It was 29.99 at the time of this review. Even though it doesn’t always play nice for me, I think it’s worth it. It’s a light with options, a flashlight, and it’s beautiful. It has a really small footprint, it’s easy to grab it off the stand, and it feels good in your hand.
