At the time of writing this lamp is very expensive indeed (£300). So everything about it should be the best! The light quality is excellent, with different colour temperatures and effective fading from dim to very bright. In addition, the actual light housing is very large (wide), enabling you to get a really good even coverage over your work area. It has some other very useful features such as a timer and an infra-red detector to allow it to turn on and off automatically. The stand though, is elegant and good looking, but doesn't offer the flexibility I would want of a lamp. The main arm has two sections with an elbow between. However, the lower section doesn't go back very far, so it's difficult to get the lamp low. The other issue is that the hinge at the top attaching the light housing itself only has two degrees of movement. This means although the light can be angled up and down and you can move it from side-to-side, there is no way to tip it, so that one end is higher than the other. This lamp is clearly designed to be squarely in the centre of your desk and is not going to play nicely if you have a large computer monitor it has to work around. So although this light is very good, I don't consider it good value given the very high cost and the limitations of the stand. This light feels like it wants to be the centre of attention, rather than whatever you're using it to illuminate!

Everything about this desk lamp screams quality, and lets face it for the price it should. The lamp comes well packaged in a very professional looking box, there is some weight to it too. The lamp requires a very small bit of assembly but this does not require any tools to complete. Once assembled the lamp feels rock solid. The mains adaptor has a lead that is just under 2m and there is a small bullet connector near the lamp end of the cable, this means that if you need to pass the cable through a desk hole the hole only needs to be quite small, much smaller than what is needed for a standard UK mains plug. Once the lamp is in position on your desk there is a big of range of motion of the lamp enabling you to get the light source in the best position for your needs. The lamp is simple to operate, everything is controlled from one touch sensitive panel on the lamp head, there are several buttons for pre-set modes for things like reading and working, these set the colour temperature and brightness to the factory defined values. There are also controls to adjust the brightness manually, the colour temperature is fixed by the mode chosen. There are a couple of other buttons for extra features like a light sensor mode and motion sensing, which will automatically turn the light off if there is no motion detected for a period of time. Overall, this is a very high quality lamp with useful features and an excellent eye friendly light output, yes it's expensive but if you are after the best this lamp will not disappoint.

This lamp is ridiculously overpriced! It behaves like a lamp that should cost at most £100, and potentially even less. Like most £30 lamps, it shares the features of: - Dimmability - The buttons to control the brightness work really well, being very smooth. The top brightness is beautifully bright, and the light quality is very nice. - 3 light colours: 5000K (blue-ish hue), 3000K (white daylight), 2700K (yellow hue). The features that make this stand out as a smart lamp include: - Sensing option: A sensor that detects if anyone is within 0.6m distance from the lamp, and if no-one is there, the lamp can switch itself off after 15 minutes of detecting no human presence. This is a great feature for anyone who is constantly forgetting to switch off lamps. It'll save money too considering this is an 18W lamp. This same sensor also switches the lamp on automatically within 2 seconds of detecting a human presence. - Automatic dimming option: There is a sensor that picks up how bright the surroundings are and adjust the brightness of the lamp accordingly, automatically. - Delayed light-off option: This gives you the option for the lamp to switch itself off after 45 minutes of this button being pressed. So if you have a habit of falling asleep with the light on, this would be helpful for switching itself off if you fall asleep. Again, this would be a good money-saver since you wouldn't have a 18W lamp on all through the night. That's the extent of the smart features. Yes, they are very nice, but are they worth £300? I don't feel they are... The lamp also has some other shortcomings: - The base is extremely heavy, weighing almost 5kg. This makes it impractical to put on a lightweight desk that may be a little flimsy and would not do well under this kind of weight. I don't know why they made it quite so heavy! I think a lighter base would have been better. - There is no USB-slot for charging your phone or other devices which cheaper table lamps do have! For £300 I would have expected ALL the bells and whistles - USB-slot included! - The design is a little cumbersome. The light-head is very large, which gives a good light, but also it gets in the way a little. On the pros side, the lamp works very well; has a lovely light; all the buttons work well, and there is quite a lot of flexibility in positioning and angling the light. If this were a £30 lamp, I would be giving this 4 stars. For a £300 lamp though, I have to take off another star for sheer ridiculous overpricing. I think 3 stars is fair.

This is a fantastic desk lamp; very modern look with lots of easy to use options. Honeywell hit it out of the park on this one! Very easy to put together, took less than 2 minutes after unpacking the light. I recommend lubricating the two hex screws, (don't need to), just makes them go in very smoothly. I would buy this light again and highly recommend it!

October 2024. This thing is solidly built, first of all. I see from some reviews that the price was way too high before, just a few months ago. It's listed at $360 now, but I got it on sale during Prime Days (early Oct. 2024) for about $270. I got this because I wanted a light that reduces eye strain at night, so I only use the night-mode setting. It has a wide range of brightness, and I find the lowest light setting to be low enough for late night usage. It also has a proximity sensor (that you can turn on or leave off) that actually works. To me, it's worth it, but I would much rather wait for the next sale before buying a second one as I want one for my bedroom as well.

First off, this thing is huge. The base itself is very heavy, weighing the majority of the 3.6 kg listed weight. The rest of the light comes separate from the base and is attached with two included bolts. The light is adjustable using the aluminum arm, and there are multiple pivots including the one at the base, the main "elbow", the "wrist" joint right next to the light head, and finally the light itself can rotate almost 180 degrees in each direction from the "wrist". It is very adjustable and casts a wide light at 24" across. The light is powered by a 24V DC wall adapter with about a 6-foot cord, that attaches to the light using a barrel connector. The lamp is controlled by touch buttons on the front of the lamp head. These touch controls are very sensitive, even to accidental presses due to contact with your hand while you're adjusting the head. The controls are pretty simple, and there are a few main operating modes. The "work" mode sets the lamp to a color temperature of 5000K, the reading mode sets it to a yellower 4000K, and "night" mode sets it to 2700K and low brightness. Two touch buttons let you increase or decrease the brightness either in steps or infinitely fading if you hold them down. The three main operating modes each default to a certain brightness (maximum for the two work modes, and minimum for the sleep mode) and don't retain the memory of the last custom brightness you dialled in when you switch between them. They do, however, remember their settings between power on and off. (But only as long as the lamp isn't unplugged.) There's also a sensor mode which automatically turns the lamp on and off in response to a person being present, and an auto-brightness setting which adjusts the brightnes in response to ambient lighting. Finally, there's a timer key which gives you either a 30-second delayed-off function (I guess so you have time to leave the room before it goes completely dark), or a 45-minute countdown to off. This light is built really solidly, but I have two issues: one is the high-gloss black surface of the lamp base is susceptible to smudging, and two is that the touch panel is hard to see when the room is dark and the light is off and you're trying to turn it on. It would have been nice if maybe the power button was always lit so you could see it. I wouldn't have minded if the touch controls were on the base, rather than on the head of the lamp. A nice, but large, adjustable desk lamp ideally suited for an office.
